200 Million People at Risk of Exposure to Toxic Pollution Globally

More than 200 million people in low- and medium-income countries are at risk of exposure to toxic pollution, according to the new report released this week by sustainability NGO Green Cross Switzerland and international anti-pollution non-profit the Blacksmith Institute.The report, “Top Ten Toxic Threats in 2013: Cleanup, Progress, and Ongoing Challenges,” ranked the 10 most contaminated sites in the world, based on industry information, public sources, and scientific literature.“..It is important to point out that the problem is really much larger than these 10 sites.
