COP 19: Developing Countries, NGOs Walk Out of UN Climate Talks

A group of 133 developing nations, known as G77+China, as well as a number of NGOs walked out of UN climate change talks held in Warsaw, Poland this week due to differences with countries who are the biggest polluters.Representatives of developing nations walked out of a key part of the talks on November 20 due to a dispute with industrial nations -- the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan. The dispute centers around compensation for climate change effects, referred to as loss and damage. The industrial nations, historically the largest producers of greenhouse gases, are not the ones suffering loss and damage from climate change, such as increased floods and droughts, as well as sea-level rise and salt-water intrusion...
