The Bank of New York Mellon has appointed Mott MacDonald as an independent engineer to monitor construction of the 406-MW Chaglla hydroelectric project in Peru. The $1.2 billion USD plant is being developed on the Huallaga River in the Chaglla and Chinchao districts by Empresa de Generacion Huallaga S.A. The company is a subsidiary of Brazil's Oderbrecht Group.
