US Secretary of State John Kerry warned about the risks of climate change and the environmental consequences of China’s upriver dam building on the Mekong during his visit to Vietnam this week.Speaking to a group of students and scientists in the southern province of Ca Mau on December 16, Kerry said the Mekong River basin, and Vietnam is particular, were among the “most potentially impacted areas in the world with respect to the effects of climate change.”Kerry cited scientific predictions that by the end of the century, sea levels will have risen by almost a full meter, which would be devastating to the Mekong delta...
