Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and his first deputy, William Ruto, are banking on new irrigation projects to fulfill their campaign promise to make the country food-secure.During his televised New Year’s address to the nation, Kenyatta said: “My government recognizes the potential of irrigation to rescue our people from hunger and other forms of deprivation.
