The European Union granted Djibouti 2 billion francs ($11 million) to finance projects to improve access to potable water in the country, the Djiboutian Information Agency reported Sunday (April 27th). The grant will fund the drilling of boreholes in six sites in Balbala and seven others in rural locations, many of which are already equipped with solar panels and local means of distribution.
