Water Supplies Cut in Nepalese Town

Despite the soaring water demand in the dry season, Nepalgunj Drinking Water Corporation has reduced water supply by 50 per cent in Banke. “The corporation has been forced to cut the water supply after two of the four wells in the locality caved in recently,” said the corporation’s chief engineer Arjun Karki, adding, they have been forced to slash the supply due to decrease in water level. NDWC is distributing water from only two wells at present. “We can’t increase water supply until the damaged wells are repaired,” said Karki.
