Nine Dead, Hundreds Sick in Possible Cholera Outbreak in the Philippines

ALAMADA, Philippines

Nine people have died and hundreds more have fallen ill, apparently from drinking contaminated water, in the remote Philippine town of Alamada, in Cotabato province, health officials said this week. They have begun testing local water supplies for cholera and other diseases to determine the cause of the illness.
