Somalia could find itself facing a humanitarian crisis comparable to the one it went through in 2011, when 260,000 people died from acute hunger, malnutrition and communicable diseases, according to UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia Philippe Lazzarini.He told an international press conference in Nairobi on May 19th that Somalia could face severe food shortages and war in the next few months.“The humanitarian needs in Somalia remain vast, based on credible assessment on the ground.
