Egypt Plans $100 Million Worth of Water Projects in Matrouh

CAIRO, Egypt

Egyptian  officials last week announced plans to carry out $100 million USD worth of water projects in the coastal governorate of Matrouh.“Six water projects will be implemented to produce 41,000 cubic meters per day,” said Sherif Faris, chairman of Matrouh Water and Sanitation Company.Among the key projects is a 5,000-cubic-meter-per-day drinking water treatment plant in Siwa Oasis. The plant should be completed within a year.Other projects include a pipeline from Al Sirk lifting station to bring water to strategic reservoirs in the city of Marsa Matrouh, and four new reservoirs with a combined storage capacity of 80,000 cubic meters per day...
