Chevron to Continue Shale Gas Exploration in Romania

US oil giant Chevron announced last week that it would continue drilling new wells to explore for shale gas in Romania’s Vaslui County.“We have obtained all necessary permits to start exploration activities in Puiesti commune, and we have fulfilled the conditions necessary for the permits to drill exploration bores in another three communes from Vaslui County (Bacesti, Gagesti and Urdesti),” the company said in a press release.Exploration activity at Chevron’s first bore in Romania, located at Pungesti, ended at the beginning of July.
