MEXICO CITY, Mexico

Mexico's Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) is filing a criminal complaint against the Buenavista del Cobre mining company, after approximately 40,000 cubic meters of leached copper spilled into the Bacanuchi River, a tributary of the Sonora River, near the city of Cananea.
