Peruvian Government Announces $1 Billion Sanitation Plan

The Peruvian government last week announced a $1 billon USD National Sanitation Plan. However, the future of the plan is uncertain as President Ollanta Humala Tasso’s cabinet struggles to secure a needed vote of confidence from the National Congress.On August 20th, Tasso’s office announced that the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation would execute the National Sanitation Plan in 2015. Work carried out under the plan is expected to directly benefit 2 million people.The plan was one of those discussed by Cabinet Chief Ana Jara Velasquez during her August 20th address before National Congress aimed at obtaining the vote of confidence...
