Red Cross Providing Water, Sanitation to Chinese Quake Victims

The Red Cross Society of China has deployed 18 national and provincial emergency response teams to areas of China's Yunnan province that were affected by the 6.5-magnitude earthquake earlier this month.The relief agency said it is providing clean water and mass sanitation, among other services.Water purification equipment has been set up in Longtoushan, which was the epicenter of the quake, to provide clean drinking water to thousands.In addition, the Red Cross said its Mass Sanitation Emergency Response Team had installed 120 temporary toilets in the area.It is also working closely with local authorities to increase awareness about post-disaster health issues...
