The Ituango dam and hydroelectric power plant, currently under construction in rural Colombia, will reportedly become the most important source of electricity in the country by 2022. But the promoters of this mega-dam have met fierce opposition from the FARC rebel group, who have a strong presence in the region. And local residents are paying the price.
