QUITO, Ecuador

José Isidro Tendetza Antúnm, an indigenous Ecuadorian leader and vocal opponent of the Chinese-operated Mirador mine in Ecuador’s Cordillera del Condor region, was found murdered last week, shortly before he was scheduled to attend the COP20 climate talks in Lima, Peru.
