Lake Victoria North Water Services Board Seeks Compensation for Destroyed Pipelines

Kenya's  Lake Victoria North Water Services Board is seeking $754,000 USD in compensation from the Kenya National Highway Authority and Germany’s Gauff Consultants for destruction of large water pipes.The highway authority and Gauff Consultants are constructing roads from Kisumu to Kakamega, and in the process damaged the pipelines laid through Iguhu, Khayega, Mukumu and Ilala to Ilesi. It cost the water board $269,000 USD to repair them.Speaking to members of the press on January 14th, Lake Victoria North Water Services Board Managing Director Shadrack Juma said the utility would also seek a court injunction to halt the road construction...
