Kazakhstan Builds New Dam on Syr Darya River

ASTANA, Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan has started building a new non-rigid (earth and rockfill) dam on the Syr Darya River in Kyzylorda province in order to prevent water shortages in the region, the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture said on February 27th.
