Azerbaijan Fears Armenian Reservoirs Could Threaten Its Water Supply

Armenia's plans to build a new reservoir on the trans-boundary Araz River could affect water availability in neighboring Azerbaijan, according to Telman Zeynalov, an ecologist and chairman of the Azeri Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources' Environmental Council.This year, Armenia will complete construction of a major new reservoir near the town of Vedi, in the Ararat Valley, according to Mher Mkrtumyan, head of the Armenian State Committee on Water Resources.
