The American Red Cross raised almost $500 million USD to help rebuild Haiti in the wake of the devastating January 2010 earthquake, yet little of that money has actually gone toward on-the-ground programs, according to an investigative report published this week by US National Public Radio and Pro Publica, an independent non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest.
