EC Announces $13 Million in Aid for Yemen

The European Commission on August 5th announced another $13 million USD in aid for Yemen.Of that total, $11 million USD will used for health, food, water, sanitation and shelter services, and to help protect vulnerable people.The remaining $2 million USD will go toward relief works for Yemeni refugees in Djibouti and Somalia, as well as refugees returning from the Horn of Africa, the EC said at a press conference.Last month, the United Nations declared a “level-3” emergency -- the highest-level humanitarian emergency -- in Yemen, where it says 13 million people lack adequate food and more than 9 million lack access to clean water...
