Romanian City Runs Out of Water as Drought Persists

As a result of the ongoing drought in the region, the town of Calafat, in Dolj County, has run out of drinking water.Insufficient water levels in the Danube River have forced pumps to be shut down at the water collector serving the town of 18,000.In Neamt County, the management of regional water company Apa Serv has decided to initiate water rationing, starting in the Targu Neamț area.“Between 10 PM and 6 AM, water will be provided with decreased pressure, and some neighborhoods in the town will even be deprived of water," said Apa Serv Director Catalin Dughir.In Vaslui County, 596 of the out of a total of 16,034 wells have dried up, and 5,128 are at low levels...
