Thirty-three countries could face extremely high water stress in 2040, according to a new analysis by the World Resources Institute (WRI).In its Aqueduct Projected Water Stress Country Rankings, WRI used a variety ofclimate models and socioeconomic scenarios to score and rank future water stress in 167 countries by 2020, 2030, and 2040 under business-as-usual, pessimistic and optimistic scenarios.Middle Eastern countries dominated the list of the top 11 most water-stressed countries in 2040, which are projected to be Bahrain, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar, San Marino, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Lebanon...
