Egypt Contains Nile Oil Spill in Aswan

ASWAN, Egypt

Egyptian authorities have contained an oil spill on the Nile River in Aswan governorate, according to Mohamed Mostafa, secretary to the Aswan Governor."Once concerned authorities discovered the oil spill, which came from an unknown source, specialized teams headed to the area to manage it," Mostafa said on September 14th.The spill had reached a length of 1 kilometer and a width of 50 meters wide by the time police and local authorities were able to halt its spread, he said.However, the Egyptian Environment Ministry estimated the size of the spill at 200-300 meters in length and 7-10 meters wide...
