The Gaza Strip could become "unliveable" in less than five years if current socio-economic conditions there persist, according to a report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).The latest Report on UNCTAD assistance to the Palestinian people, prepared ahead of the UNCTAD's upcoming 62nd session, warned of the dire consequences of the eight-year-long Israeli economic blockade of Gaza, as well as three military operations over the past six years that have further crippled the territory's economy and destroyed infrastructure.The Israeli military operations in Gaza have displaced 500,000 people and destroyed 20,000 homes, as well as schools, hospitals and primary healthcare centers, factories and commercial centers...
