US Announces $89 Million in Humanitarian Aid for Yemen

WASHINGTON, DC, United States

The United States on September 16th announced another $89 million USD in humanitarian aid to help those affected by the ongoing conflict in Yemen.The funds will be used to provide emergency food assistance, safe drinking water, improved sanitation, emergency shelter, medical care, nutrition services, and protection for vulnerable populations, according to a statement by White House spokesman Ned Price.The assistance will be delivered by implementing partners at Yemen’s sea and airports and via distribution networks inside the country.“To that end, we look forward to all parties allowing unfettered access to Yemen’s ports and airports, respecting the neutrality of humanitarian workers, and allowing them to travel safely in all parts of the country and cross battle-lines in order to meet the urgent needs of the Yemeni people,” Price said...
