Contamination From Brazil Mine Disaster Threatens Downstream Communities

Sludge, water and debris released after two dams burst at a mine in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state on November 5th have spread downstream toward neighboring Espiritu Santo state this week, forcing cities 300 kilometers away from the disaster site to cut off water supply as a precaution.
