Mexican Judge Orders Monitoring of Sonora River in Wake of Last Year’s Acid Mine Spill

A judge in Mexico’s Sonora state has ruled that the country’s National Water Commission (Conagua) must monitor water quality in over two dozen wells along the Sonora River to ensure they are no longer contaminated in the wake of the August 6, 2014 acid spill from Grupo Mexico’s Buenavista del Cobre mine.
