Brazilian Police to Charge Companies, Executives Over Tailings Dam Disaster

Brazilian Federal Police announced on January 13th that they would charge three companies -- mining firms Samarco and Vale SA and engineering firm VogBR -- as well as seven mining executives with environmental crimes in connection with the November 5th tailings dam breach at Samarco’s iron ore mine in Minas Gerais state.
