Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan Receive Technical Offers for Grand Renaissance Dam Studies

CAIRO, Egypt

Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan last week received a technical offer from French consultancies BRL Group and Artelia for studies on the impacts of Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam project, Egyptian Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Hossam al Moghazi said on January 29th.Egypt will review the offer, which includes a risk assessment and an environmental assessment, ahead of a meeting with representatives of the other two countries, he said.The companies are scheduled to start the studies by the middle of this month, and complete them within 11 months.Meanwhile, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on January 30th, on the sidelines of the 26th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa...
