The recent drought in the eastern Mediterranean region, which affected Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, the Palestinian Authority, Syria, and Turkey, is likely the worst in the past 900 years, according to a new study by scientists from the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
