Panama’s IDAAN to Buy More Tanker Trucks to Supply Water-Scarce Regions

Panama’s Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems (IDAAN) plans to purchase more tanker trucks to distribute water to various parts of the country, according to IDAAN Director Julia Guardia.She said the agency had requested an initial $49.4 million USD to purchase the trucks, as well as to strengthen drilling projects, repair leaks in the lines and pay contractors.Over the weekend, IDAAN announced that it would be using tanker trucks to supply water to areas of West Panama, Darien and Los Santos that are experiencing low water pressure.It is also drilling eight new wells in Darien to increase water supply...
