Barrick Gold’s Veladero mine is located in periglacial area of Argentina, and therefore violates the country’s Glacier Law, according to a US geologist.The scientist, Robert Moran, visited the mine in San Juan province this week as part of the expert investigation ordered by Judge Sebastián Casanell into the cyanide solution spill at the mine last September.“All the water of the rivers that flow in the area of Veladero comes from the melting of glacier.
