ICRC Distributes Aid in Philippines' Drought-Stricken North Cotabato Province

MANILA, Philippines

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has distributed food rations to over 29,000 people in two drought-hit municipalities in the Philippines’ North Cotabato province, the agency said this week.Thousands of farmers in the province have experience poor harvests or total crop failure due to the ongoing El Niño-induced drought.The food rations, distributed last week, include 25 kilograms of rice, 24 tins of sardines, 2 liters of cooking oil, 2 liters of soy sauce, 2 kilograms of sugar and 1 kilogram of salt, as well as basic hygiene items.North Cotabato province was placed under a state of calamity due to drought back in January...
