Karachi Residents Launch New Protests Over Water, Electricity Shortages

Residents of Karachi’s Yousaf Goth neighborhood took to the streets this week to protest ongoing lack of water and electricity services.Hundreds of demonstrators blocked the Hub River Road to draw attention to the situation, according to local media reports.The protesters said power supply has been cut off for the past 15 days, and as a result they have also been left without water, creating a particular hardship during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, which began this week.They accused power company K-Electric of punishing all households for the actions of some defaulters by cutting off supply to everyone in the area...
