Samarco Fined $41.5 Million for Damage to Protected Areas

BRASILIA, Brazil

Brazil's Environment Ministry last week fined mining company Samarco $41.5 million USD for damage to three protected areas as a result of last November’s tailings dam burst at an iron ore mine in Minas Gerais state.
