GENEVA, Switzerland

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on internally displaced persons (IDPs), Chaloka Beyani, last week urged the Nigerian government and the international community to take urgent humanitarian action to protect hundreds of thousands of people forced to flee northeastern Nigeria due to violence from Boko Haram militants and government counter-insurgency measures.
