Honduran government officials, along with representatives of the Polytechnic University of Engineering (UPI), and the agricultural and livestock sector, met last week with technicians and scientists working on a US Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded solar desalination project.The Agua del Sol ("Water from the Sun") pilot project, carried out under USAID’s "Securing Water for Food,” aims to remove salt from water in natural aquifers, UPI engineer Luis Eveline told La Tribuna on September 3rd.Eveline said the unique project would help the country meet its agricultural, livestock and drinking water needs...
