Vietnam Fines Second Taiwanese Company for Wastewater Discharges

HANOI, Vietnam

The government of Vietnam’s Dong Nai Province has fined Taiwanese screw manufacturer Header Plan Co. over $9,000 USD for illegally discharging wastewater into a canal that flows into the Dong Nai River.The Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment started investigating the wastewater discharged by the company based on complaints from local residents.The firm has been ordered to clean up the environmental damage it has caused before September 30th, local media reported over the weekend.Another Taiwanese-owned facility, the Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Company, has been at the center of a major water pollution scandal...
