Russia Imposes Water Restrictions in Crimea

Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Sergey Donskoy has instructed Crimean authorities to tighten water consumption restrictions, saying “water is now the weight of gold” on the peninsula.Donskoy had previously warned about the deterioration in the condition of Crimean reservoirs this year compared to last year.Following a meeting on Crimea’s water supply in Simferopol last week, Donskoy said a stable system of water supply to Crimea would be established by 2019.“All of the infrastructure will be prepared [and] pipelines laid, and in 2017-2019 we will achieve a more stable supply of water in all regions of the Crimea,” he said...
