ICRC Urges Minsk Negotiators to Take Action on Water Supply in Luhansk

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has urged members of the Minsk-based Trilateral Contact Group on Eastern Ukraine to take urgent action to provide water supply in the Luhansk region.To avoid cut-offs affecting 600,000 people in both government- and non-government-controlled areas of eastern Ukraine, funds will have to be found to pay for electricity supply to the local pumping station.“The last time this happened [in early October], we took the exceptional decision to pay the accounts of the company for electricity,” ICRC regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Patrick Vial said last week...
