Vietnam Government Distributes Compensation to Fishermen Affected by Steel Pollution Discharges

HANOI, Vietnam

Vietnamese authorities have distributed compensation to fishermen in the country’s Thua Thien-Hue and Ha Tinh provinces who were affected by last April’s fish death incident. The massive fish deaths were blamed on wastewater discharges from a Taiwanese-owned steel mill in Ha Tinh province.
