Fears Mount as Yom's Levels Drop

The Bangkok Post reports that rice farmers and irrigation officials have become gravely concerned over a drought that looks set to hit farmland in the North and upper Central regions, following a decrease in water levels in the Yom River and some other natural water sources.

Parts of the Yom River that run through Phichit have begun to dry up and it is expected that pedestrian transit across the river bed will be possible towards the end of January (The Bangkok Post).
