South Korea Wants To Cooperate With Philippines In Wastewater Treatment, Water Quality Systems

Daegu City, South Korea has submitted a proposal of co-operation to the Philippines to explore advanced technology for wastewater treatment and water quality systems. The proposal involves a government-to-government agreement to oversee the development of advanced water technology, specifically to improve operational efficiency of water purification and wastewater systems. It will also make efforts to improve improper sewage discharge system, offering diagnosis and maintenance of the area’s pipe network in order to stop future leakage and inflow of pollution sources. A new water purification system is also included in the proposal. The proposal comes as a result of rampant water pollution plaguing Boracay Island, Philippines, mainly caused by the discharge of untreated wastewater.
