KARACHI, Pakistan

Pakistan’s new President Imran Khan’s manifesto included a pledge to plant 10 billion tree saplings within five years to address climate change challenges.

A tree-planting “tsunami” is planned to protect Pakistan’s landscape by reducing the risk of floods from melting glaciers in the north of the country.
