The Ministry of Health of Somalia has announced 29 new cases of cholera for week 24 to 30 September, 2018. Among them, 45% were 5 years old and below. The cumulative total of cases is 6423, including 42 associated deaths since the beginning of the current outbreak in December 2017. This week, all the cases were reported in Banadir. Banadir region, which includes Mogadishu city, has one of the highest concentrations of internal displaced persons (IDPs) who have limited access to safe water and proper sanitation.
