$130 Million USD From AfDB For WASH in Rwanda

KIGALI, Rwanda

In an expansion of Rwanda’s Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program, the African Development Bank is to provide additional funding of $130 Million USD. In November 2017, the Bank approved an initial $171 Million USD under two funding mechanisms. The overall program is co-financed with the European Investment Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development.The funding is to address water and sanitation challenges in strategic cities and where access is less than 50%, or significantly lower than the national average of 85%, the bank said.It is expected that this additional support will enable over 1...
