Dubai Sheikh Announces Ambitious Water Network Plan


Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has launched a Dh5.8 billion investment plan for new energy and water projects to serve the Northern Emirates. The ambitious plan encapsulates construction of water dams and a federal water network linking the region to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE government has also approved a solar power station and a plant to desalinate more than 680 million litres of water in Umm Al Quwain.
