The Nordic Development Bank (NIB) and Käppalaförbundet, a federation of 11 Swedish municipalities, have signed a $58 Million USD 30-year loan agreement, with proceeds to be used for upgrade of wastewater treatment services in eastern Stockholm.Käppalaförbundet is a federation of eleven municipalities that provides water services for a rapidly growing population exceeding 500,000. The funds, announced March 12, will be used to expand the Käppala wastewater treatment plant and increase the plant’s capacity to meet the needs of up to 900,000 people. In addition, funds will be used to upgrade facilities and processes to meet more stringent regulations that have been imposed throughout the region...
