Trump Budget "Would Be A Disaster For Water, Air And Public Health"

Environmentalists have sharply criticized US President Trump’s propsed 2020 budget that seeks deep cuts in funding for the Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the government department responsible for saguarding the nation's water resources.The March 11 White House proposal would cut the USEPA budget by 31 percent from $8.9 Billion USD to $6.1Billion USD and, according to Washington-based NGO Environmental Working Group (EWG), indicates that the administration is continuing to ignore growing environmental and health threats throughout the US.“In the face of a nationwide drinking water contamination crisis, a broken chemical safety net, and devastating hurricanes and wildfires, a rational and concerned president would seek more funding to protect Americans’ health, keep our environment clean, and combat the threat of catastrophic climate change,” said EWG President Ken Cook...
